Our mother couldn't wait for the day my brother would start a family.

Rafał was already 30 years old, and my mother was already saying goodbye to the idea that one day she would get married and move out. He had no intention of moving out. On the contrary, when he found the love of his life, he dragged her to his mother's house — despite her protests.

A real nightmare began at my mother's house. Roksana, my brother's beloved, had been married before. She had a daughter from her first marriage and very unpleasant experiences with her mother-in-law. Roksana, having learned from the experience of living together, decided not to make the same mistakes she had made with her first husband's mother.

From the doorway, she handed my mother a notebook with a list of requirements and rules, suggesting that she follow them. When the mother read it, she laughed: “I can breathe? She just wanted to lighten the mood, but Roksana pointed out point 1.3: “Don't open your mouth unless asked to.”

Mom tried to talk to Rafał so that he and Roksana would move out. Imagine: your son brings a woman with a child to your house, who gives you a piece of paper with these rules. And with exactly the same wording.

Well, something like this: Clause 1.4, as Roksana explained to her mother, means: even if Rafał is not yet her legal husband, she considers him as such, therefore he is her husband. If her mother is against it, she should read paragraph 1.3. Honestly, I laughed. “The child does not count” – yes, the child does not wash, does not use electricity, lives in complete darkness and without cartoons. “No guests in your own home” – good job, Roksana, good job!

Your daughter-in-law will live with you and will forbid you from bringing guests to your own apartment. Will the wedding take place at this rate? Roksana and Rafał refused to move out. Roxana made a big deal out of everything her mother did that wasn't on the list. Then her mother asked me to come and help her kick out the insolent tenants. T

My husband and I got ready and went to my mother's house. Roxana shouted: -“We agreed – no guests! I packed Roxana's things, and my husband helped my brother pack.

The occupiers were expelled, and peace reigned in my mother's house. And you know what's the funniest? My mother was not against Roxana and wanted to accept the child. But this list pissed her off completely. Maybe Roxana doesn't know the saying: you don't go to a foreign monastery with your own statute!
