From real life. “I agreed to sell the house only on one condition”: The new apartment will be registered in my name

My wife died when my daughter was only 6 years old.

Since then, I have lived only for her and have been involved in her upbringing. I promised my wife when she was on the verge of death that I would do everything to make Zuza happy. Basically, there were no problems with my daughter as a child. She was obedient and did well in school.

She was also a great housewife – she helped me in every way she could. Years passed. Zuza became a student. Then she slowly started to decline in her studies because she didn't have time for them. Besides, my daughter wanted to work part-time to have pocket money.

Soon Michael appeared in her life. I accepted my daughter's choice because he seemed like a nice guy. When the children decided to get married, I was happy for them. But as soon as we moved in together, everything started to go wrong. My son-in-law started showing his temper and was mean to me.

He was rude, swore, and tried to boss me around in my house. Later, my daughter suggested that we sell the house and buy an apartment in the city, so that we would be more comfortable. I agreed, but on one condition: we would register the apartment in my name.

My son-in-law didn't like that, so he made a scene. I explained my decision: “I need a guarantee that you won't kick my ass in my old age.” My daughter and son-in-law called me all sorts of names, packed up their things, and left for the city.

Zuza simply forgot about my existence and even stopped calling me. I hoped until the end that my daughter would come to her senses, but alas. A year after the fight, it was my birthday. I thought my daughter would get rid of her pride and come with wishes. I specially prepared her favorite cake so she would understand that I was waiting for her.

I waited all day for my beloved daughter, to whom I devoted my entire life, but I was sitting alone. I waited for Zuza until dusk. Then I took a shower and went to sleep. Before I went to bed, I talked to a photo of my deceased wife to feel a little better.

I couldn't understand why I lost Zuza, why she didn't even bother to call me on my birthday.
