Fraudsters “divorced” a propagandist from a top Russian TV channel out of millions of rubles

In Russia, scammers fraudulently swindled almost 3.5 million rubles from an employee of the state TV channel NTV.

This was reported by Russian Telegram channels. The incident occurred back in December 2024: the victim of the scammers was the producer and correspondent of the TV channel, 52-year-old Denis Shuisky.

The scammers called him and introduced themselves as FSB officers. They stated that they allegedly tried to take out a loan on Shuysky's behalf and transfer the money to Ukraine. Then they convinced him to take out a loan and transfer the money to “safe accounts,” which Denis did.

Then Shuysky was offered another loan and to withdraw his savings of $5,000. However, this was not enough for them – Shuysky was forced to sell his Mazda CX-5 car at a car dealership.

As a result, the Russian propagandist lost almost 3.5 million rubles. He learned that he had been deceived when the same scammers first delayed returning the money, and then asked Denis to buy 10 liters of gasoline and matches. That's when he contacted the police.
