If non-original parts are found during the inspection of the phone, the service can return the phone to the owner. This rule was discovered in Google's terms of service and repair. It appeared in July 2023, but who read it?
Adding spice is the fact that Google encourages self-repair. There is a program where a Pixel owner can get repair tools, manuals and certified parts. Some buy cheaper analogues rather than original parts to save money. And such people can be left without a phone by contacting the official service.
The good news is that there are still no cases when the services used this rule. But the bad thing is that such harmful measures are literally spelled out in the user agreement. And other manufacturers are not far behind: information about Samsung has recently emerged. But in general, it puts pressure on independent workshops and demands that craftsmen report to the corporation about every Samsung phone in which unofficial parts were discovered.
