Fake remote work cost a woman 380 thousand hryvnias

The 33-year-old victim wanted to earn some extra money online, but instead she ran into criminals. Law enforcement officers once again warn: do not trust messages from strangers with a proposal to get a big salary on the Internet.

As employees of the Ternopil District Police Department found out, a woman saw an ad that she could get a small profit through a popular social network. She had to watch a video and like it. The pseudo-specialist in content promotion convinced the applicant that in order to increase her income, she needed to make several money transfers. Noting the prospect of quick profit, the victim did not suspect anything and began to transfer money to the scammer's account. In this way, she «filled the pockets» of the scammer for a total amount of – 380,000 hryvnias.
