The singers were impressed by the life stories of two gymnasium teachers – Ludmila Taranovych and Tetyana Magda. After the start of a full-scale war, both remained in the village and tried to help their native school.

According to the headmistress Olga Dashko, the gymnasium was shelled by heavy artillery, hailstones, and rockets. In at the Velyka Kostromka gymnasium, up to 250 children are currently studying remotely, the staff of the institution is about 30 people. Some of the students are evacuated, but all the teachers are at home.

Our school is partially destroyed: the left wing, two gymnasiums, the classroom of the extended day group, all elementary school classes, the foreign language classroom, and the inclusive education classroom are completely destroyed. The destruction is great. It is our hope that even if the fundraising is completely completed, the rebuilding of the school will begin as soon as the security situation permits. Military operations are now 25-30 kilometers away from us, said the director.

It is known that the total estimate for the restoration of the institution is UAH 70 million. The school does not yet know what other sources of funding will be. In the gymnasium itself, they also participated in the collection of funds for reconstruction, said Olga Dashko. In particular, they ordered 400 keychain keys – copies of the symbolic “school key”, which were given to those who donated.
