Emily in Paris season 5: Emmanuel Macron will not let the series stay in Rome

Emily in Paris, one of Netflix's hit series, will return for a 5th season. But, to Emmanuel Macron's great displeasure, the plot will not take place in our capital, but in Rome, in our Italian neighbors. A “vacation” that the President of the Republic, unlike the Parisians, hopes will be temporary, as his fiery statements prove!

Emily in Paris leaves for Rome, Emmanuel Macron protests

Three weeks ago, on social networks, the N Rouge officially announced to fans the return of Emily for a season 5. The setting for this sequel will not be, as it has been so far, the Pantheon and the Sacré-Coeur, but the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. Indeed, in Lily Collins' video shared by Netflix, the actress assures that there is “no place like Rome“, while enjoying an espresso with a knowing smile.

The main character of the series will therefore set down his suitcases in Italy in the next episodes, for a duration that Emmanuel Macron hopes will be as short as possible! In an interview with our colleagues at Variety, the President of the Republic declared that he did not intend to leave the Netflix series, good for tourism despite the clichés, too long away from Paris.

We will fight fiercely. And we will ask them to stay in Paris! Emily in Paris Rome doesn't make sense.

Comments that were not to the taste of Internet users: we can read on X comments such as “Thank you Mr. President, doing everything to ensure that Emily in Paris stays in Paris is THE priority of the five-year term” or even “Take care of the country already instead of acting like an actor“. As a reminder, Brigitte Macron makes a brief appearance in episode 7 of season 4 of the Netflix series. And you, what do you think of this statement?
