Elon Musk announced the development of neurochips to restore sight to the blind

Elon Musk announced the production of the Neuralink Blindsight chip. According to him, he will be able to restore sight to blind people.

Elon Musk announced a new product of the Neuralink company – Blindsight, which is designed to restore sight. Elon Musk wrote about this in X (Twitter).

Elon Musk's company Neuralink, which tests neurochips for controlling gadgets with the power of thought, plans to develop a similar product for the blind so that they can see. Monkey tests have been successful and aim to eventually surpass normal human vision.

Vision will initially be low like early Nintendo video game graphics, but may eventually surpass normal human vision sight, he said.

According to Musk, this project will be called Blindsight. The inventor said that the chips have already been successfully tested on blind monkeys, none of them died or were seriously injured by the Neuralink device.

Recall that recently Elon Musk, the head of the Neuralink company, announced that the first person to successfully receive a neurochip implant developed by the company. According to him, the patient is recovering well after the procedure, and initial results show signs of neuronal activity.
