Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: the majority won't be able to play the DLC, here's why

Many players were convinced that a DLC was coming to Elden Ring. Square Enix proved them right several months ago, including a first trailer 3 months ago. And while a gameplay trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree allowed players to learn more about the next chapter of Elden Ring, it was revealed that most players will not be able to access it.

Like many DLCs, Shadow of the Erdtreehas its access conditions. Players will not be able to access it upon creating their character, with FromSoftware ensuring that only experienced players will obtain the Holy Grail. But the Japanese studio does not require players to have defeated the Beast of Elden, aka the end boss, simply an optional boss:Mohg, the Lord of Blood.

But as Mohg’s statistics for obtaining Steam, Playstation and Xbox trophies reveal, few players are able to do so. having defeated him.And unfortunately for those who would not have faced him. the Blood Lord, it is necessary to defeat him to access the content ofShadow of the Erdtree. Players who have not yet passed its two phases will therefore have to head towards Mohgwyn Palace if they wish to unlock access to the DLC. On Steam, only 38% of players have the achievement linked to this. à victory over Mohg.

Substantially similar percentage on PlayStation with 35% of players being able to boast of having killed it. But on Xbox, this percentage drops drastically: only 18%. While the release of the DLC is still scheduled for June 20, players who have not yet defeated Mohg have not so only a few days left to take a detour to the of Mohgwyn Palace to take it down if they wish to take advantage of it upon launch.

Stay at; to know if such unlocking conditions will not affect the sales of the DLC. Some players could give up on this option. a purchase if they feel they still have too much to spare. do to play Shadow of the Erdtree
