Duchess Kate Opens Up About Illness: 'It's Still a Real Challenge'

Duchess Kate speaks honestly about her illness. Although the treatment has ended, she still feels its effects.

As the portal „Goniec” reminds, the British royal family has had an exceptionally difficult year. Last year, both Duchess Kate and King Charles III battled cancer. Earlier this year, Prince William's wife announced that the disease was in remission. Now, new information has come to light about how the duchess coped with the disease and treatment. It was not as rosy as it might seem.

Duchess Kate announced remission of the disease

The past 12 months in the British royal family have been a time full of fear and anxiety. First, there was information about King Charles III having cancer, then about Duchess Kate being diagnosed with cancer.

Fortunately, the reassuring message that the king was responding well to treatment and that the disease was under control came quite quickly. Duchess Kate also occasionally appeared at major public events, which always caused euphoria among the British and supporters of the royal family around the world.

Finally, in early 2025, the wife of the heir to the throne confirmed that her disease was currently in remission. This information reassured the subjects. It was emphasized that Duchess Kate can now move forward and start a new life after the disease.

This is what Duchess Kate's fight looked like disease

After hearing that her disease is in remission, Duchess Kate has no intention of giving up on taking care of her health. She also remains under the constant care of doctors. “I remain focused on my recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adjust to the new normal,– added a source close to Prince William and Duchess Kate.

Duchess Kate emphasized that her treatment does not end when she leaves the hospital, but continues. She emphasized that the treatment has side effects that are felt not only during but also after its completion.

„Do you think that the treatment is it's over and you can get back to normal, but it's still a real challenge. And I understood that as a patient: yes, there are side effects of treatment, but there are actually more long-term side effects–quotes Duchess Kate portal “Goniec”.
