Donald Trump prepares for first post-election television interview on NBC

US President-elect Donald Trump has chosen NBC News for his first post-election TV interview. The interview is scheduled for November 5.

This was announced in an official NBC press release.

The interview will air on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. GMT) on Meet the Press.

The interview will be conducted by Kristen Welker, a White House correspondent for NBC News who has been the host of Meet the Press since September 2023. This will be one of Trump's few public appearances since the election.

During the interview, Trump is expected to discuss his plans for the upcoming term, including:

• mass deportation of migrants — one of the largest in the country's history.

• repeating climate change initiatives.

• imposing tariffs on imports, especially on products from China.

Until now, Trump has mostly published his statements through his own social network Truth Social and press releases, avoiding traditional media.

Trump's relationship with traditional media has always been tense. During his first term, he repeatedly called them the enemy of the people. In his last election campaign, he preferred to work with podcasters and influencers, focusing on the target audience to mobilize votes.
