Sphelar cells can achieve energy conversion efficiency of almost 20%, surpassing most traditional solar panels.
The Japanese company Kyosemi has released an innovative spherical battery that absorbs sunlight from all sides. ECOticias portal writes about it.
The article says that the solar sphere from Kyosemi “destroys” traditional panels. The development not only increases energy efficiency, but also overcomes the limitations of conventional solar technologies.
As noted in the publication, traditional solar panels use flat photovoltaic cells that must be perfectly positioned to take advantage of sunlight, making their efficiency dependent on the angle of the sun. For their part, Kyosemi Sphelar cells are tiny spherical blocks that absorb sunlight from all angles, eliminating the need for expensive mechanical frames and simplifying installation.

The technology is reported to be applicable in a variety of industries, including powering mobile electronics, wireless terminals, or construction equipment . At the same time, the authors emphasize that Sphelar's capabilities are still limited. Currently, Kyosemi continues its research and efforts to improve solar cells.
“As Kyosemi keeps the path to mass production, the opportunities for Sphelar cells to reform the energy landscape are enormous. With constant innovation in technology as well as generation methods, the future of solar energy is the brightest”, — believe in the publication.
