Denmark Intelligence monitors possible foreign interference in Greenland elections

~ ~ < P > This is stated in a statement published on PET, reports “European Truth”.

< p > As stated in the statement, Greenland authorities expect possible influence by foreign states in connection with the election on March 11 2025.

~ < p >“Increasing competition between the great powers in the Arctic and the upcoming elections in Greenland have led to the spread of misinformation, and the current situation can be actively used by foreign states to promote their own interests”, & ndash; is in the statement.

< P >< Br /> Intensive debate about the international security and independence of Greenland led to the spread of misinformation, especially on social networks, noted in the service. < /p > ~ ~ < P > On the eve of the elections, examples of fake profiles on social networks, including profiles that issued themselves for Danish and Greenland politicians, contributed to the polarization < P > There are also examples of how Greenland Politicians or individuals are used outside the context to promote or reinforce certain views.

< P > In recent weeks, US President Donald Trump has spoken of the desire to buy Greenland, strategically important and minerals rich in the Arctic Island in Denmark. The first such statements were heard from him during the first presidential cadence.
