Crossed the line: British Conservatives asked Trump not to listen to Musk – Bloomberg

The American billionaire, who felt too free in his statements, has already caused irritation among German and British politicians.

Against the backdrop of Ilon Musk's scandalous statements influential British politicians from the right-wing camp privately contacted Donald Trump's entourage and urged the newly elected US president not to support British far-right activist Tommy Robinson. According to Bloomberg, Musk previously called for Robinson to be released from prison.

According to sources, representatives of the Conservative and Reform parties of Great Britain believe that Musk's latest statements – this is “too much”. The British tried to explain to the Americans who the anti-immigration activist Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, really is, and why the British right did not support this supposedly ideological ally.

Robinson is now in prison after admitting that he violated a court order by repeating false statements about a Syrian refugee. He was previously convicted of a number of other crimes, including mortgage fraud, assault and using someone else's documents.

Against the backdrop of Elon Musk's scandalous statements, influential British right-wing politicians privately contacted Donald Trump's entourage and urged the newly elected US president not to support British far-right activist Tommy Robinson. According to Bloomberg, Musk had previously called for Robinson to be released from prison.

As journalists' sources told us, representatives of the Conservative and Reform parties of Great Britain believe that Musk's latest statements are “too much.” The British have been trying to explain to the Americans who anti-immigration activist Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, really is, and why the British right has not supported this supposedly ideological ally.

Robinson is currently in prison after admitting to violating a court order by repeating false statements about a Syrian refugee. He has previously been convicted of a number of other crimes, including mortgage fraud, assault and using someone else's documents.

The British politicians' appeal to their American counterparts was prompted by Musk's latest foray into British politics. Since Keir Starmer won the UK general election last July and became prime minister, Musk has regularly criticised the new Labour government, called for a new election and urged Britons to support the right.

Many on the British right have been sympathetic to Musk's many words on ethnic gangs and his broader criticism of the current government, but his support for Robinson has crossed the line, sources familiar with the matter say.
