Ukrainian TV channels participating in the “One News” marathon are recognized as critically important for ensuring the functioning of the economy and the life of the population. This status assumes that employees receive armor from mobilization.
The relevant orders of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy were approved from April 2 to 5.
According to the department's resolutions, companies, including “Teleodin” LLC, “My-Ukraine” LLC (TV channel “My-Ukraine”), LLC “TRK “Studio 1+1” (TV channel “1+1”), LLC “MK TRK” (TV channel ICTV), PJSC “Telekanal “Inter” (TV channel “Inter”), state enterprise “Parliamentary TV channel “Rada” (TV channel “Rada”) and Joint-Stock Company “National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine” (TV channel “Public News”) , meet the criteria of critical importance for maintaining the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihood of the population in a special period.
A similar status was confirmed for the Kryvorizka, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Lviv circuses, as well as the Mobile and National circuses of Ukraine. Their employees also received postponement.
We remind you that in January 2024, the Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostislav Karandeev reported that the booking of conscripted cultural figures who are not employees of strategic enterprises, institutions and organizations is impossible and does not take place. At the same time, he noted that in each institution of culture and information sphere, which belongs to the strategic direction, the department ensured the reservation of 50% of conscripts.
How can one draw conclusions about the importance of a cultural institution based only on its name? The State Enterprise “Directorate of Mobile Circus Teams of Ukraine” is not a street tent, as someone imagines, but a professional team of high-class masters of their craft. This is the only institution that holds performances in the most remote territorial communities, where it is difficult to reach, where people do not have the opportunity to attend cultural events – Rostyslav Karandeev is outraged by the dissatisfaction of Ukrainians with regard to the new resolution.
According to him, the collective held more than 1,510 performances in 17 regions of Ukraine, and it is the government's duty to ensure the stability and at least the minimum capacity of any cultural institution that continues to operate despite the war.
In addition, the reservation algorithm workers in the field of culture and media has not changed since the beginning of the full-scale war. Employees of theaters, music institutions, circuses, etc. are subject to reservation. This will continue.
This is a very small number of people. The Directorate of Mobile Circus Teams of Ukraine submitted only 14 people for booking. So! Only 14 employees! This is less than 10 percent of the total number of the entire team! These are 11 performers of the most complex circus genres and 3 more technical workers who are inseparably connected with the artists and without whose participation the performances simply do not take place, – continued Rostislav Karandeev.
As for the booking of media employees, acting the minister is convinced that during the war Ukrainian mass media are a source of true information and a pillar of national security. The fact is that the enemy is trying to manipulate public opinion around the world and is spreading outright lies.
