Crema Bueno: forget El Mordjene, this spread made in France is a hit

This summer, it wasn't Nutella, the famous Ferrero spread, that was trendy, but El Mordjene spread, a product with a Kinder Bueno flavor that came straight from Algeria and that was popular on social media. A few weeks later, another brand is taking off. Launched by two Normandy chocolatiers, Crema Bueno is sure to seduce you.

After its success this summer, El Mordjene banned from sale

Indeed, this summer, if you spent time on social networks and especially on TikTok, you must have seen this famous spread produced by the Algerian brand Cebon called El Mordjene.

Although this sweet product has been popular on social media, in mid-September, we learned from the Ministry of Agriculture that This spread was banned from sale in the European Union. An investigation was opened to determine how this product had ended up on the European market. As a result, stocks of El Mordjene were blocked by customs at the French borders.

Forget El Mordjene spread and Nutella, here is Crema Bueno

Today, it is a new spread that is trying to make a place for itself in the sector and compete with the market leader, namely Nutella. Produced by the Ferrero brand, it is the star product on the shelves of French supermarkets. The Italian company also claimed to have sold nearly 90 million jars of Nutella in France last year. This represents almost three pots of dough. spread sold every second.

It seems that Nutella doesn't have much trouble competing with Crema Bueno because the latter is not yet available in all French supermarkets. Two Norman chocolatiers, Alexandre Cousin and Léa Chauveau, decided to ride the wave of the El Mordjene spread to develop their own, made from hazelnuts from Italy, sugar and palm oil that respects the environment and does not cause deforestation, as specified by its designer.

Sold at less than 3 euros a pot, Crema Bueno is a hit with its roasted hazelnut flavor. The manufacturers of this Normandy spread had not imagined that it would be such a success. As reported by our colleagues at Le Parisien, customers of a store in Seine-Maritime who discovered this product described it as “killer”. In the space of one morning, 150 pots of Crema Bueno were sold. Customers were won over by the fact that this product was made locally. It now remains to be seen whether this Kinder Bueno-flavored spread will be sold throughout the country. At Hitek, we can't wait to try it!
