Counter-Strike 2 fan spends $100,000 to create one of the rarest skins in the game

A Counter-Strike 2 item collector spent a whopping $100,000 to create one of the rarest weapon skins in Valve's shooter.

It would seem that everyone is already used to the fact that Counter-Strike skins can cost unreal money, but it still surprises the gaming community every time, informs 24 Channel with reference to Dexerto.

Rare AUG

In October 2024, a new collection appeared in the game – Overpass 2024. In it, gamers can find a skin for the AUG rifle called “Eye of Zapems”, which is usually not impressive in its value and costs about $20.

However, a few months after the collection appeared, one gamer was lucky enough to open a case that probably changed his life.

The player received the already mentioned AUG with the lowest “float” index among all skins in the entire game – 0.00000000019395.

Note, the “float” index is responsible for the condition of items and ranges from 0.00 to 1.00. The lower the value – the better the condition of the skin.

On December 29, the player confirmed that he sold this rare lot to a well-known collector under the nickname Megalodon888. Although the exact amount of the deal is not disclosed, it is rumored that the price was 50,000 dollars.

The new owner of the skin made a move and added 5 very rare and expensive NAVI Holo stickers from the 2014 Katowice Major to his purchase, each of which costs around 11,000 dollars.

Thus, the total expenses of Megalodon888 for this AUG are estimated at about 100,000 “evergreen”.

Although the newly created item is still far from the status of the most expensive in the history of the game, after all the manipulations of the gamer it has definitely become one of the rarest, if not the rarest.
