Constantine 2: We finally know if the film with Keanu Reeves will be banned for young people

He will be back! It's official, Keanu Reeves will once again slip into the shoes of Constantine, the controversial hero of the DC universe. While the sequel project to the 2005 film had been discreet since these confidences from the director in 2023, we now have good news concerning the sequel. Between the level of violence and the progress of the scenario, discover below where is Constantine 2!

John Constantine is back (finally!)

Rumors of a possible Constantine 2 have been circulating for years. Fans have stopped believing it… Until finally, in 2023, Keanu Reeves confirmed that he had spoken with James Gunn, the co-director of DC Studios. Since then, the return of this anti-hero, a specialist in black magic and the occult, sarcastic and violentat its best, is long awaited. Fortunately, according to our colleagues at the ComicBook site, the project is finally moving forward. Francis Lawrence, the director of the first film, will indeed be back at the helm of this sequel, and the script, written by Akiva Goldsman, is now finished. A script that, according to their sources, will be Rated-R, that is to say forbidden to the youngest! This promises bloody action and violence galore…

The producer, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, admitted to ComicBook that he had not yet dared to read it – and not because it is too gory (although), but because he is afraid that the quality will not be up to par.

You know it's in my inbox right now, but it's kind of funny, I'm too scared to read it. I want it to be good so bad.

On the other hand, these old confidences from Francis Lawrence on BroBible's Post Credit podcast already teased his desire to make a Constantine 2 darker and more mature than the first one.

We finally did it, and Keanu, myself, and Akiva Goldsman, who originally made the film together, are thinking about ideas, but the strike kind of interrupted us. However, we are currently finding ideas to create a second part, which will be rated R.

The fans will undoubtedly be there for what promises to be a bloodbath!
