China unveiled the prototype of the world's fastest train: what is known

China presented a prototype of the CR450 train, capable of developing a speed of 450 km/h. The new train surpasses the previous CR400 model and is undergoing final tests before commercial operation.

China has unveiled a prototype of a next-generation high-speed train that is expected to be the fastest in the world. According to China's Ministry of Transport, the train reached a speed of 450 kilometers per hour. This is reported by CNN.

Details

Once it enters commercial operation, it could become the world's fastest high-speed train, surpassing the current Chinese model, the CR400, which debuted in 2017 and runs at a speed of 350 kilometers (217 miles) per hour.

The latest CR450 prototype has been highly praised by its developers, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles and CRRC Sifang Co. – for its superiority in operating speed, energy efficiency, noise insulation and braking performance.

According to the state-run China Daily, the car has undergone more than 3,000 simulations and more than 2,000 platform tests to meet the rigorous requirements of commercial operation.

According to representatives of the China State Railway Group, additional tests and refinements are needed to ensure that the train meets all the standards required for commercial operation.

Over the past decade, China has become the undisputed world leader in the development of rail transport, building thousands of kilometers of new railways that reach almost every corner of the country. According to China's Ministry of Transport, the country's railway network is over 160,000 kilometers long, including over 46,000 kilometers of high-speed rail lines.
