Cardboard kamikaze drones have been developed in South Korea, which are cheaper than FPV quadcopters

Korean startup Peach showed the development of the Papidrone-800 drone at the KADEX 2024 exhibition. It is assembled from cardboard.

It is noted that the Papidrone-800 drone is made according to the flying wing scheme. It is designed for a maximum speed of up to 100 km/h, and a flight range of up to 50 km or 20 minutes. The drone has a communication system with a range of up to 20 km.

The internal volume of the drone's fuselage allows carrying a combat unit, but it can also be used for reconnaissance. Due to its technical characteristics, it will most likely prove itself more effectively in the role of a kamikaze drone. Given its takeoff weight of only 1 kg, the warhead probably weighs no more than 0.5 kg – about the same as a hand grenade.

Regarding operation, the drone can operate at wind speeds of up to 10 m/s, which is a typical limitation for “civilian ” devices. Its IPX3 level of moisture protection allows you to fly even in the rain.

The video of the drone test shows the use of hot-melt adhesive to attach the fuselage elements. In addition, some power elements of the body are probably made of carbon, and the drone also has metal rods. But the use of electronic components is reduced to a minimum number of boards.
