British intelligence says enemy preparing for attack on Pokrovsk

The Avdiivka-Pokrovsk sector in eastern Ukraine likely remains the main focus of Russian efforts, with enemy operations there having intensified in the past week. It is likely that the Russians are preparing to advance on Pokrovsk.

This is stated in an intelligence report by the UK Ministry of Defence.

Thus, according to British intelligence, Russian troops have partially surrounded the city of Selidovo and will most likely try to capture it in the coming weeks.

In addition, Russian troops are advancing towards the centre of Toretsk, but this is happening slowly, and the current Russian positions in the city remain vulnerable to Ukrainian counterattacks.

Since the capture of Vuhledar in early October 2024, Russian troops have only slightly advanced beyond the city. It is located at the intersection of two key fronts – Zaporizhia and Donetsk.

According to British intelligence, there are certain signs of Russian attempts to resume offensive operations in the eastern part of Zaporizhia. Russian troops have reportedly occupied the village of Kamenskoye on the Zaporizhia-Melitopol highway. The area has remained relatively stable for over a year, but it is not known whether Russian forces will be able to sustain further offensive operations in this direction.
