Battlefield control: Ukrainian Armed Forces to receive FDI FALCON 127M combat module with AI technology

The module is equipped with two FALCON EYE fire control systems, which provide a full 360° view with a range of up to 5,000 meters.

The Turkish company FDI GROUP, which has offices in Portugal and Ukraine, has introduced a new combat module FDI FALCON-127M. This high-tech model is equipped with two completely independent electronic-optical fire control systems (EOFCS) FALCON EYE with a full 360° view, controlled by artificial intelligence. This was reported on January 9 by the Defense Express reviewers.

FDI GROUP will independently integrate the FDI FALCON-127M into an armored vehicle, the type of which will be determined by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. After testing, the upgraded armored vehicle with the installed module, worth $650,000, will be transferred to the Ukrainian military free of charge.

Unique capabilities of the module

FDI FALCON-127M combines innovative technologies, ensuring safety and security:

  • Target detection and tracking. Artificial intelligence allows you to automatically lock on to up to five targets simultaneously, including tracking one of them in real time.
  • Circular Surveillance. FALCON EYE provides a full 360° with a range of up to 5000 meters.
  • Precise fire. Fire control at a distance of up to 1500 meters, taking into account ballistic data in real time.
  • Working in conditions of low visibility. The module is equipped with thermal imagers that work with visibility up to 70-80%.
  • Universal integration. Module systems are compatible with both Western and Ukrainian armored vehicles.

Application prospects

Experts note that these modules are suitable for combating enemy manpower and lightly armored vehicles, and their autonomy makes them a key element for defensive and offensive operations.

Armored personnel carriers thus modernized with the help of FDI FALCON-127M become highly effective platforms for performing reconnaissance, surveillance and combat missions. And the PNEOSUO enables the commander and gunner operator to conduct observations independently, increasing the survivability of the equipment and the safety of the crew.

In addition, FDI announced the development of an air defense complex worth 1.5 million dollars, which after testing will be handed over to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“Innovative solutions of the group of companies FDI GROUP… can become not just weapons, but also a symbol of technological progress and strategic superiority of Ukraine in its struggle for freedom against Russian invaders”, — the reviewers concluded.
