Batman: Surprise, this friend of Bruce Wayne is now part of the Green Lantern

In the small world of superhero comics, not a week goes by without an unexpected twist affecting our favorite characters. This time, it's an ally of Batman who joined the Green Lantern Corps to protect the Earth from vampires! And the least we can say is that of all Bruce Wayne's entourage, he's the one we least expected…

this ally of batman becomes a vampire-hunting green lantern (yes, yes)

At DC as at Marvel, vampires are popular. In the series DC vs. Vampires, the universe is now controlled by vampires, and several superheroes have gone over to the bad guys' sideafter being transformed. Signed James Tynion IV, Matthew Rosenberg and Otto Schmidt, this story takes place on Earth 63, tragically infested with bloodsuckers. Dick Grayson is the big boss, and he has made Barbara Gordon his queen. After the death of Batman and most of the members of the Bat-Family, Damian Wayne is bitten in turn, and then devotes himself body and soul to the resistance. After a hiatus, the series is back with a twist not bad. In DC vs. Vampires: World War V #2, The vampire version of Aquaman demands that human survivors (including Green Arrow, Black Canary, Deadshot, and John Constantine) deliver Damian to him in order to prevent a second all-out war between humans and vampires.

A vampire Wonder Woman then attacks the hideout where Damian's mother, Talia al Ghul, and Alfred Pennyworth, who has sworn to watch over the son of the late Bruce Wayne, have taken refuge. The latter do not know where the Damian: to get him out of hiding, their enemy threatens to assassinate them… To escape, the butler locks himself in a vault containing treasures and trophies from the four corners of the universe. There he finds Hal Jordan's power ring, himself deceased, and puts it on his finger! Yes, you read that right, on Earth 63, Alfred Pennyworth becomes a vampire-hunting Green Lantern. An unexpected plot twist, the aim of which is to surprise the reader more than to respect the character's personality.

And you, what do you think?
