Barbara Kurdej-Szatan under fire. Words from the past come back like a boomerang

Barbara Kurdej-Szatan attacked after appealing to flood victims.

Barbara Kurdej-Szatan, a famous actress and celebrity, has once again spoken out on an issue that is of concern to all of Poland. This time, she referred to the tragic flood situation that hit the southwestern part of the country, including her home region of Opole. Kurdej-Szatan published a moving post on social media, in which she expressed her support for the victims. However, Internet users quickly reminded her of the controversial words from three years ago, when she sharply criticized Border Guard officers.

The actress, concerned about the scale of destruction caused by the flood, decided to express her sympathy for the people who lost their life's work. In her Instagram post she wrote:

“My heart is with you! With the entire south. And my beloved Opole… Take care!”– confessed Barbara Kurdej-Szatan, attaching photos of firefighters who are heroically fighting the elements, placing sandbags on the banks of rivers, reports the O2 portal.

Although most Internet users reacted positively to the words of support, many have not forgotten about the previous controversies related to Barbara Kurdej-Szatan. She was reminded of her post from three years ago, when she criticized the actions of the Border Guard on the border with Belarus in a highly emotional tone, calling the officers “machines without a heart and brain”.

The comments included numerous references to that situation:

“And you're not on the border with Belarus?”, “It's nice that you appreciate firefighters so much, but the guards on the border are still waiting for an apology”, “And you didn't feel sorry for the Border Guard, Basieńko” – some users wrote, reminding the actress of her old post.

Barbara Kurdej-Szatan returned to the screens after a few years' break, hosting the program “Cudowne lata” on TVP. In 2021, she lost her job on television, which was supposedly the result of her controversial post about the Border Guard. Óthe former president of TVP, Jacek Kurski, fired the actress, and her statement was widely commented on in the media.

Although Kurdej-Szatan is now trying to act with more empathy and understanding, some fans still remember her turbulent past.
