Bae Systems developers have introduced the latest high -precision APKWS rocket with self -esteem

< img src = "/uploads/blogs/39/4b/ib-1iojb1vgvgv_7b271523.jpg" Alt = "Bae Systems developers presented the latest high-precision APKWS rocket with a self-esteem"/~ 62 < p > at the SEA-Air-Space 2025 exhibition Bae Systems has introduced a new version of the Apkws High-Precision Missiles (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System), which are now equipped with an infrared self-draining head. This upgrade converts the usual 70-mm Hydra missile into an effective means of intercepting air threats & mdash; including drones & mdash; in the & laquo; almost shoot and forget & raquo;.

< p >The new two -channel guidance system combines laser control with an infrared sensor, which allows the pilot after the laser designation to go immediately to the next & mdash; without the need to keep admiration. This significantly increases the firing rate that is critical in the fight against switches or winged missiles.

< P > The prototype of the missile has already passed preliminary trials with the support of the US Air Force. The new version is based on the proven fighting decisions of the Falco program, which has already proven effective in the destruction of drones, in particular the Hussite devices in the Red Sea in March 2025. The first modified missiles were delivered for use from fixed winged platforms, although their use in the US Navy has not yet been reported.

< P > Apkws integrated with more than 45 types of platforms, including & mdash; MH-60S/R Seahawk Helicopters of the US Navy, as well as UH-1, AH-1 and MV-22 of the Marine Corps. With the updating of the rocket, they will not only be able to perform the functions of air support, but also play a role in the air defense of the fleet and expedition forces. < P > Bae Systems Innovation can be an affordable alternative to expensive anti -aircraft systems to combat drones. The new solution allows you to expand the combat capability of helicopters and aircraft equipped with Hydra rockets unnecessarily to create a new starting infrastructure. Further tests are expected to confirm the combat efficiency of a new set of guidance and provide it with a wider introduction in the US Armed Forces and Allies.
