The saga Bad Boys

In 1995, the young Michael Bay left his mark on American cinema from his first feature film: Bad Boys. Taken by by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, this action comedy is a huge commercial success. For a budget of 19 million dollars, Bad Boys brings in more than 141 million dollarsin worldwide box office revenue. A success that launched the career of Michael Bay. The filmmaker then decided, in 2003, to produce a sequel, simply titled Bad Boys II. Severe; once again the film is a success with more than 273 million dollars in revenue (for a budget swollen to 130 million).

In 2020, after almost 20 years of absence, the cult duo reforms for Bad Boys for Life< /strong>, a third part directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Less appreciated by the press and spectators than the two previous parts, Bad Boys for Lifeyet records the best score of the saga with more than 426 million dollars in box office revenue. The two shock cops are back June 5 with Bad Boys: Ride or Die, still made in by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The first American returns have been received, and are generally positive:

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is phenomenal.

I love the Bad Boys franchise. This one raised every bar. It’s nonstop hilarious. Innovative action beats. So much chemistry with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

The best time I’ve had at the movies in a while. Absolutely loved it. pic.twitter.com/VgqJSwu1k0

#BadBoysRideOrDie is a total blast.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are still great at busting each others' balls, the new mystery is compelling (Eric Dane is a great baddie) and Adil & Bilall's action sequences are loaded with inventive staging and camerawork.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is a total blast. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are always good at busting balls, the new mystery is exciting (Eric Dane is a convincing big bad guy) and the action sequences of Adil & Bilall are responsible for inventive direction and camerawork.

#BADBOYS RIDE OR DIE is a total blast. It’s crazy how Adil & Bilali have tapped into the strong emotional core of this series without sacrificing any of its insane fun. Smith & Lawrence bring their A-game, the supporting cast step it way up (REGGIE!), & shit blows up real good. pic.twitter.com/BYcEehBLmy

RIDE OR DIE is a total blast. It's crazy to see to what extent Adil and Bilali exploited the emotional core of this series without sacrificing any of its senseless pleasure. Smith and Lawrence bring their A-game, the supporting cast steps up (REGGIE!), and shit explodes really well.

Oh girrrrrrrl, this was a FUN WATCH!!

The #BadBoys agenda is alive & well, long & strong

It feels good to have FUN movies in theaters, ya know? It has its serious moments when it needs to but its overall goal is to ENTERTAIN. Bring some escapism..

Cant wait to see it again! pic.twitter.com/HuYt6N7cho

Just saw @BadBoys #badboys Ride or Die! The action is just as good as you’d expect, and it might be the funniest yet? Biggest applause(s) in my screening went to Dennis Greene as Reggie for reasons I’ll let you see for yourselves!

No prior Bad Boys knowledge needed to have fun!

#BadBoys: Ride or Die was sadly not the movie for me.

But it seems lots of fans of the franchise will enjoy it, and the audience I watched the movie with were having a blast. pic.twitter.com/vcbkf5plnY
