At The Weeknd's concert, an activist ran on stage with an appeal about Ukraine

>> The Weeknd

Popular Canadian singer The Weeknd played a concert in Melbourne, Australia on October 6. The performance was not without interesting incidents related to Ukraine.

Despite security, an activist named Johnson Wen managed to jump onto the stage. He wrote about this on his Instagram.

Wen was wearing a red T-shirt with the blue and yellow flag of Ukraine. The outfit also boasted the inscription “Free Ukraine” in English, which translates as “Freedom to Ukraine”.

Probably, in this way the activist wanted to draw attention to the war in Ukraine and once again remind that the country is currently fighting for freedom against a brutal aggressor.

The singer first hid Ven from the guards and hugged him. In the end, the performer handed the activist over to the guards, after which they took him off the stage.

It should be noted that The Weeknd condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and supported the Ukrainians. In particular, he joined the Stand Up for Ukraine campaign. Thanks to this, funds were collected, which went to humanitarian aid to Ukrainians. In addition, the musician banned the listening of his album, which he had already released after the Russian invasion, on the territory of Russia.
