To study the risks of premature death, Danish and American researchers designed an AI model called Life2vec. A true “destiny calculator”, this tool allows you to predict the death of an individual by considering a multitude of data such as age, state of health, level of education, employment, or even income. .

Concretely, as reported by presse-citron, the researchers looked at six million Danes aged between 36 and 64, between 2008 and 2020. Then, they asked the AI ​​which of them would still live until as of January 1, 2024. Today, it turns out that the tool was right in 78.8% of cases.

So much so that Sune Lehmann, one of the authors of the study, says that humans are much more predictable than they want to admit. According to him, everyone could be reduced to a sequence of events that occur in their life, sufficient to predict their future. So predictable that AI doesn't teach us much…

In fact, the results show that having a high salary would allow you to live longer, as would… being in good health ! Conversely, being a man, having mental health problems or exercising a “skilled” profession would put us at risk of premature death…
