Apple to introduce its first foldable smartphone after iPhone 17

Apple is preparing the first foldable iPhone, which will be part of a global update of the lineup. According to analysts, the device will debut no earlier than 2026, after the release of the iPhone 17.

What is known

The foldable iPhone will receive an internal flexible screen, the size of which will exceed the display of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The company has long postponed the release of the device due to requirements for the quality and durability of the mechanisms. The flexible screen and improved hinge should meet Apple's high standards.

It should be noted that currently, foldable devices make up less than 2% of the smartphone market, but Apple hopes to change that. The flexible iPhone will be part of the company's efforts to stimulate sales, which have slowed down amid minimal updates to previous models.

Earlier this year, Apple introduced the Vision Pro – its first new product in a decade. However, low sales of the device prompted the company to look for new hardware solutions.
