Apple is preparing the iOS 18.3 operating system: what to expect from the new iPhone update

iOS 18.3 – is Apple's next update that will be released for iPhone users later this month, and it is also the first major version released this year. The company released the iOS 18.2.1 update a few days ago, but it does not offer any new features and is mostly focused on fixing bugs and other security vulnerabilities. That's why iOS 18.3 is eagerly awaited, especially for iPhone users who can try out the company's new AI features.

What else is known

The iOS 18.3 beta has entered Phase 2, giving us a closer look at what the full public update will bring in the next few weeks. The latest details about iOS 18.3 suggest that Apple may introduce a new Invites app for iPhone users.

A new app was recently spotted in the code of iOS 18.3 beta 2 by the folks at 9to5Mac, who claim that the new app can help people organize events and meetings. Some might say that Apple already has a platform called Calendar that does all of these tasks. But it looks like the company is trying to expand its feature set and possibly tie it to your iCloud account, as the report mentions.

Reports suggest that the company is still working on the features that will be available in the iOS 18.3 public update, which means we may have to wait another week or so before the list of features will become clearer. The new update doesn't tell us much about what iPhone users can expect to see in January, but Siri is likely to be a big focus on the AI front for Apple.

The Siri AI integration still seems half-baked, although it can now talk to ChatGPT and respond to requests. But most of the workload for the AI assistant is yet to come, and we can see some glimpses of it in iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3.
