XDA experts have explained why the Windows operating system is more vulnerable to viruses than other platforms.
According to their analysis, one of the key reasons is the architecture of the system itself. Windows rarely asks for confirmation when launching applications or processes, especially when the user is running with administrator rights, which creates favorable conditions for malware. In contrast, in Linux and macOS, applications by default operate in a «sandbox» and cannot obtain extended rights without the owner's explicit permission.
The second reason is the specifics of the Windows target audience. The operating system is designed for users with minimal knowledge of computers, which makes them more vulnerable to hackers. At the same time, more experienced users who value a high level of security prefer macOS or Linux.
The third factor is the massive distribution of Windows. This OS has the largest share of users worldwide, including both legal and pirated versions. That is why it is profitable for hackers to develop malicious programs for millions of devices running Windows.
