AMD announced the release date of a new series of video cards

AMD has confirmed the release of RX 9000 series video cards based on the new RDNA 4 architecture in the first quarter of 2025. David McAfee, CEO of AMD's graphics division, wrote about this in his X (Twitter) account.

What else is known

“The hardware and software of the Radeon 9000 series looks great and we plan to release a wide range of cards around the world. Can't wait for gamers to get their hands on the cards when they go on sale in March!”, – wrote McAfee.

Some users of X (Twitter) found this announcement format strange and not worthy of an important product, which are new video cards. The community believes that AMD video cards should be accompanied by media in the same way as processors.

AMD unveiled the RX 9000 at CES 2025 in January. At the same time, the company confirmed rumors that the new video cards will support RDNA 4 technology, which was developed from scratch, and which will provide a significant increase in performance, especially in tasks related to artificial intelligence. Improvements affected computing units, ray tracing system and video encoding.

The key feature will be exclusive support for FSR 4 – advanced technology of scaling and generation of frames based on machine learning and a specialized AI hardware accelerator. FSR 4 will work with games that already support FSR 3.1. Detailed specifications and prices for RX 9000 series video cards have not yet been disclosed.
