Aleksander Kwaśniewski spoke out about Iga Świątek. The former president did not mince his words

Aleksander Kwaśniewski indicated Iga Świątek's victory as the most important sports event of the passing year.

Iga Świątek has won the hearts of fans all over the world, although – obviously – she has the largest group of fans on the Vistula. As reported by the “Super Express” portal, this group also includes former president Aleksander Kwaśniewski. Kwaśniewski indicated one of Raszynianka's successes as the most important sporting moment of the passing year. Find out the details!

The past year has been marked by sports. There was no shortage of major sports events, such as the Olympic Games in Paris. Unfortunately, Polish athletes did not perform well at the Olympics, returning to Poland with only 10 medals, only one of which was an Olympic gold.

When asked about the greatest sports success of the past year, Aleksander Kwaśniewski did not point to the success of Polish athletes at the Olympics, but to the triumph of Iga Świątek on the Roland Garros courts.

“From the point of view of sporting value and publicity, there is no doubt that the highlight of the year is another victory for Iga Świątek at Roland Garros. Of course, with that incredible match with Osaka along the way. That wonderful fight by Iga went down in tennis history,” said the former president in an interview with the “Sport” service.

Kwaśniewski recalls the match Świątek

Aleksander Kwaśniewski revealed that he watched the aforementioned match between Świątek and Osaka together with his daughter. He did not hide the fact that there was a moment in the match, in which he thought that our compatriot would lose, but she managed to turn the tables and ultimately win.

Kwaśniewski emphasized that Iga Świątek proved then that she is brave. The former president recalled that the Polish tennis player's victory was written about all over the world. He added that Świątek is currently the most recognizable Polish sportswoman in the world.
