After House About to Die, Roland Emmerich will adapt this cinematic masterpiece into a series

The reboot craze continues! We recently learned that this cult western will be getting a remake, and it won't be the only masterpiece of the Seventh Art to get a (useless) facelift in the years to come. A war film that won an award by several Oscars will also return to our screens, this time in the form of a series.

this masterpiece returns as a three-season series

One of the greatest films in the history of cinema, and more particularly of the 60s, is going to get a makeover. An American director and producer well known for his disaster films, Roland Emmerich, has indeed confided to our colleagues at the Hollywood Reporter that he has always dreamed of taking on the story of Lawrence of Arabia! This famous adaptation of the autobiographical story  The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, by David Lean, won a shower of Oscars (7!) in 1963. The cast includes some of the biggest names of this generation of actors: Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Alec Guinness and Anthony Quinn. In the coming weeks, Roland Emmerich and Anthony McCarten, the writer of Bohemian Rhapsody, will present the project to potential partners. The duo envisions a prestigious three-season series, with McCarten hoping to write the entire first season. According to the director, there will be a few more characters in his version, which, while it is based on his previous films (Independence Day, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow), will also be loaded with epic special effects. His series could tell two stories using a “present timeline” and a “past timeline“, like The Godfather II, in 1974, which explored the rise of Vito Corelione through flashbacks, and the story of his son Michael Corelione.

And you, what do you think of this project?
