A vandal who became an Internet “star” by damaging New Year’s installations was detained in Dnipro

An unpleasant incident occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Dnipro – an unknown man damaged New Year's decorations in the central square of the city. The incident was captured on video, which quickly spread on social networks, causing outrage among residents.

This was reported by the D1 TV channel with reference to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The police officers of the Shevchenkivskyi Police Department No. 4 promptly documented the offense and began searching for the culprit. As it turned out, a 23-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih, who was on vacation in Dnipro, was involved in the incident that occurred on December 25.

Thanks to the cooperation of Dnipro law enforcement officers and operatives of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department, the offender was found.

An administrative report was drawn up against the young man under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (minor hooliganism).

Law enforcement officers emphasize that such actions bear not only administrative responsibility, but also moral responsibility before society. The police call on citizens to abide by the law, show respect for community property, and preserve the festive atmosphere.
