“A special threat situation has arisen for Germany and its allies”: Germany intends to modernize its army

Germany intends to modernize its army to be ready for war . This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the country, Boris Pistorius. According to him, Germany faces the task of reforming the Bundeswehr in order to make it optimally positioned, especially in the defense situation.

The structure of the German Armed Forces will consist of four types of troops instead of three. In addition to the traditional army, navy and air force, there will be a new unit operating in information and cyberspace.

“According to Defense Minister Borys Pistorius, the current structure must be questioned taking into account the demands of the changing times. From the point of view of an interagency view of the entire organization, what orientation is necessary for modern national defense and the defense of the Alliance was studied. Since Russia called into question the peaceful order in Europe, a special situation of threat arose for Germany and its allies. The focus of the analysis was combat capability and operational capabilities”, — from the press service of the German Ministry of Defense.
