The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office approved and sent to court an indictment against a 34-year-old man on the fact of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a resident of Vovchansk, having established contact with a representative of the Russian special services in the messenger «Telegram», since June 2024 has been systematically «draining» information about the locations of the personnel of the Defense Forces and Ukrainian military equipment in the city.
The traitor transmitted the collected information in the form of voice messages, accompanying them with visual marks on maps to enable the enemy to identify the AFU forces on the ground.
The information transmitted by the accused was used by the enemy to plan and launch targeted strikes on the locations of the Ukrainian defenders.
Law enforcement officers exposed the traitor. During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of illegal activity was seized from him.
The man is awaiting trial, being held in custody without the possibility of posting bail. He will be tried in the Chuguiv City Court of the Kharkiv Region. The accused faces life imprisonment.
