A resident of Lviv region received a year of probation for promoting Soviet symbols

The Starosambir District Court sentenced a resident of Lviv Region, Lyubov Sirokha, who spread posts on social networks promoting Soviet symbols. The court assigned her a year of probation.

As indicated in the case materials, Lyubov Sirokha is originally from Khiriv. In 2022, on the banned social network «Odnoklassniki» distributed posts with communist symbols on her page.

In court, Lyubov Sirokha pleaded guilty and confirmed the circumstances of the case, and repented of her actions. Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the judge of the Starosambir District Court Maksym Klimchenko found her guilty under Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced her to a total of one year in prison.

However, the court released her from serving the sentence and assigned her a one-year probationary period. At the same time, the court confiscated Lyubov Sirokha's phone. This verdict can be appealed.
