A pseudo-journalist from Bukovina was sent to pre-trial detention for two months after promising to “slack off” mobilization for money.

The court established an alternative measure of restraint in the form of a bail of over 242 thousand hryvnias

Until January 25, 2025, a pseudo-journalist Dmytro Kalancha was sent to a pre-trial detention center, who promised to “dissuade” him from mobilization for $10,000. The court established an alternative measure of restraint in the form of a bail of over 242 thousand hryvnias.   The video from the court session was published by the deputy head of the Federation of Employers of Bukovina Stepan Tarnovetsky.   We will remind, A resident of Vyzhnytskyi district was served with a suspicion of fraud. The pseudo-journalist promised to “shun” mobilization for money. According to the local telegram channel KhCh, the suspicion was served on the well-known Dmytro Kalancha.   “On his pages on the Internet, the defendant positioned himself as a «journalist» who is engaged in public activities and the protection of men subject to mobilization, in fact – he deceived citizens. In this way, he deceived a couple from Ivano-Frankivsk region,” the communications department of the Chernivtsi region police reports.
A couple from Ivano-Frankivsk suffered from the man's actions.

“During the pre-trial investigation, officers of the investigative department of the Main Police Department in Chernivtsi region, with the operational support of criminal investigation officers, found out that at the end of June this year, a 44-year-old resident of Vashkivtsi, Vyzhnytskyi district, through deception and abuse of trust, took possession of a vehicle belonging to a couple from Ivano-Frankivsk,” the report states.
