A powerful channel for smuggling household appliances has been eliminated in Volyn, – prosecutor's office

Under the procedural guidance of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office, within the framework of the pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceedings on the smuggling of goods in Volyn, a channel of illegal import into Ukraine across the state border of computer equipment and household appliances with concealment from customs control was eliminated.

According to the investigation, residents of the Volodymyr district established a scheme for purchasing goods in the Republic of Poland and importing them into Ukraine without declaring and paying customs duties.

The goods were sold via the Internet (including including through an analogue of a well-known sales site created by the attackers) throughout the country.

Orders were sent to buyers by mail. To conceal the large number of shipments, other people were involved, who were paid a monetary reward.

During court-sanctioned searches of the defendants' warehouses, homes, and vehicles, computer and household appliances and other valuables worth about 11 million hryvnias were seized.

The issue of imposing an arrest on the seized items is being resolved.
