A Lviv resident stole a Bolt scooter — how the court punished him

The Frankivsk District Court of the city of Lviv has passed a verdict in the case of theft of an electric scooter. The accused, who is a resident of Lviv, pleaded guilty and received a suspended sentence. 

This is stated in the court verdict published on Opendatabot.

A Lviv resident stole a scooter 

The incident occurred on December 1, 2024 on Volodymyr Velyky Street. The man stole a two-wheeled green electric scooter belonging to the Bolt Operations company. The cost of the vehicle was 6,000 hryvnias.

In court, the man pleaded guilty and confirmed the fact of theft. The court found the accused guilty under Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Theft committed under martial law”). He was sentenced to five years in prison. However, taking into account sincere repentance, assistance to the investigation, and the absence of aggravating circumstances, the court released the man from serving the sentence with a probationary period of one year.

The stolen property, including the electric scooter and its components, will be returned to Bolt Operations. The accused will also be charged procedural costs in the amount of UAH 1,591.80.
