A local resident who worked for the Russian special services was arrested in Khmelnytskyi

A 23-year-old local resident was taken into custody without bail in Khmelnytskyi, who was scouting for the enemy the locations of military facilities in the city and committed sabotage.

This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office.

“Prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court against a local resident for the facts of disseminating information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, sabotage and damage to communication routes (Part 2 Art. 113, Part 2 Art. 114-2, Part 1 Art. 277 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post bail”, – the message says.

According to the prosecutor's office, in the summer of 2024, a 23-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi, communicating on social networks, agreed to cooperate with the Russian special services for money.

The man scouted the coordinates of military units in Khmelnytskyi and sent them to the enemy with marks on Google Maps screenshots and photos. And the enemy attacked them with a Shahed type UAV.

In addition, the traitor agreed to set fire to a railway relay cabinet, which is responsible for regulating train traffic, for $200.

He carefully prepared for this, namely, he drove 20 km from the city, took an incendiary mixture and a change of clothes, and got to the immediate scene of the crime through the forest.

Law enforcement officers detained the man in September 2024.
