A Kharkiv resident is accused of repeatedly distributing materials justifying Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, the man, who did not have a permanent job, actively published anti-Ukrainian posts on social networks after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. In his comments, he disparaged Ukrainian military and civilians, called Ukrainians Nazis, and supported the Kremlin's aggressive policy.
Among his statements were promises to burn his Ukrainian passport in the event of the “liberation” of Kharkiv by Russian troops. The illegal content of the publications was confirmed by linguistic expertise.
The accused is currently in custody. He will be tried in the Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv. If convicted, the man faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
