Opera Air has a minimalist design with translucent elements and a floating sidebar, which contains:
- The “Take a break” function — monitors the duration of browser use and reminds you to take a break.
- Boosts — a collection of music, natural sounds and binaural beats that improve focus.
- Breathing exercises, meditations and stretches, including posture control via webcam.
- Integration with Aria AI assistant, Messenger and WhatsApp.
Users can adjust the sound and frequency of binaural waves, as well as choose the duration of Boosts — from 15 minutes to infinity.
According to Opera Product Director Mohamed Salah, the company decided to create a separate browser rather than embedding these features into Opera One in order to make a full-fledged tool for supporting mental health.
The challenge for Opera is convincing users to switch to the new browser, as they are already used to the standard Opera One and the gaming Opera GX.
Opera Air is already available for Windows and macOS.
