The European Commission is going to allocate almost €3 million to support “independent” journalists from Russia and Belarus working in the European Union.
This was reported by the European Commission's press service.
The program aims to develop “independent media in exile”.
According to the European Commission's estimates, in 2024 alone, 1,500 journalists and editorial offices from Russia and Belarus fled or moved to countries EU.
From February 3 to March 14, public, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as research centers, can submit applications for the competition to support journalists.
