Austria and Germany summoned heads of diplomatic missions of the DPRK due to North Korean troops in the Russian Federation

The foreign ministries of Austria and Germany summoned the heads of diplomatic missions of North Korea in connection with the deployment of its troops in Russia. This was reported by the 10th Federal Foreign Office of Germany, as well as the 10th Federal Foreign Office of Austria.

The Austrian department emphasized that Pyongyang's assistance to Moscow in the war against Ukraine is a flagrant violation of international law and undermines security in Europe and on the Korean Peninsula.

— We summoned the North Korean ambassador to express serious concern over reports of the presence of DPRK weapons and troops in Russia,— diplomats in Vienna indicated.

The German Foreign Ministry, in turn, emphasizes that if the information about the participation of North Korean troops in the war in Ukraine is confirmed, then this would mean a gross violation of international law.

— The Federal Foreign Office today summoned the chargé d'affaires of North Korea. Supporting Russia's aggressive war also threatens Germany's security and the European world order, Berlin explained.
