We learn today in Deadline that his next film, whose title and pitch are carefully kept secret, will begin filming in early 2025. The feature film will once again be produced by Universal, the Hollywood major having managed to recover the star filmmaker after he slammed the door on Warner Bros. Discovery following a huge rant. American actor Matt Damon is in talks to play the lead role. If negotiations are successful, this will be the third collaboration between Damon and Nolan, after Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023).

Universal has already set the release date for the project, which will hit theaters on July 17, 2026. The American studio thus confirms its desire to respect tradition: since The Dark Knight, almost all of Christopher Nolan's films have been released in July, apart from Interstellar (in October) and Tenet (in August).
