The rules for Ukrainian refugees with cars have changed in Germany. Now our drivers will have to register their cars locally if they have lived in the country for more than a year.

As of October 1, refugees from Ukraine must register their vehicles with German license plates if they have lived in the country for more than a year, writes Deutsche Welle.

The new rules should improve the quality of monitoring the situation on the road. The thing is that cars with license plates from other countries are practically not subject to full control.

Applications for re-registration using digital Ukrainian documents are not accepted. After the procedure, you need to replace the license plates with German ones. By the way, Ukrainian cars are also subject to registration at German customs.
