Pilot Andrii “Jus” Pilschikov was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine

On the Day of Defenders, October 1, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously to pilot Andriy Pilschikov with the call sign “Jus”. He died in a plane crash in the summer of 2023.

Also, the rank was given to 9 more fallen Ukrainian soldiers. This became known from the presidential decree.

For personal courage and heroism, shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with a presentationOrder of the “Golden Star” to the following military personnel:

“Jus” was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine

Awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine pilot Andriy Pilshchikov, known by the call sign “Jus”, died during a plane crash in Zhytomyr region. According to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the plane crash occurred on August 25. During a combat mission, two L-39 planes collided in the sky near Zhytomyr.

Three Ukrainian pilots – V'yacheslav Minka, Serhiy Prokazin and Andriy Pilshchikov – died. “Jus” was called the voice of Ukrainian aviation, because he was one of those who lobbied for the importance of providing Ukraine with modern weapons, in particular, F-16 aircraft.
