Protesters in southern Mexico set fire to a state government building and cars in a parking lot.

Protests took place in the state capital of Guerrero – city of Chilpancingo, reports  Associated Press.

Demonstrators are demanding answers from authorities in the case of the disappearance of 43 students from a rural teacher training college in 2014.

Another student from the same college was killed in a clash with police in March of this year.

A representative from the state of Guerrero said the government “regrets and condemns the acts of violence.”

At least 12 cars were burned during the protests.
